Josephine Hanson (née Verner),75, fell asleep in death on Friday, April 11, 2025 at her home in Barberton, Ohio. She was born on December 26, 1949, in Akron, Ohio. Josephine was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1968 and remained a devoted member of the South Barberton Congregation throughout her life. She found great comfort in her faith and the Bible’s promise of living forever on a restored paradise earth. “The hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.” —John 5:28, 29. Josephine was a dedicated homebody who found joy in simple pleasures. She had a generous spirit and was always ready with a thoughtful gift for those around her. She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 54 years, Tore; her sister, Juanita (Richard); her brother, David; her daughters, Janet (Clayton) and Evonne (Jonathan); and her grandchildren, Liam and Nora. Josephine had a keen mind and enjoyed keeping it sharp with Sudoku, crosswords and jigsaw puzzles. She also had a knack for mending anything torn or broken—a skill reflected not only in her handiwork but also in the way she cared for those she loved. Her memory will be treasured by all who knew her.
