Joyce M. (Sherman) Copen

Joyce M. Copen, 91, passed away Monday, May 29, 2023. She was a life resident of Barberton. Joyce retired from Akron General Medical Center where she taught radiology for many years. Joyce was an avid sports fan and loved watching ALL sports. Preceded in death by her husband, George B. Copen and brother, Donald (Sally) Sherman. Joyce is survived by son, Ronald (Karysa) Copen and daughter, Karen Copen (James Fetter); 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews, student and friends.The family will receive friends and family on Thursday, June 1, 2023 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton. Joyce’s funeral service will be held Friday, June 2, 2023 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Rod Grabski officiating. Burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
