Karen C. Smith

Karen C. Smith, 78, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 28, 2023. She was born in Barberton on July 7, 1945 and was a resident of Canal Fulton for 51 years. Karen had worked for the Akron Canton Visitors Burea at CAK Airport. She was a member of Rivertree Christian Church and was always involved in bible studies and was a youth group leader and taught Sunday School. She had been a Girl Scout Leader. She enjoyed being a member of the AACA Car Club with her husband, and they enjoyed camping and traveling also. Preceded in death by her sister, Lois Elaine and her granddaughter, Samantha Kate; survived by her husband of 55 years, Gary; daughters, Summer Lee and Heather Lynn; grandson, James; brothers, Norm, Tim and Jon and numerous nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, November 8, 2023 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton 44203. Her funeral service will take place on Thursday, November 9th at 12 Noon with Pastor Al Dangelo officiating. Burial will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or www.stjude.org.
