Ken D. McMurray

Ken McMurray, 74, passed away on March 6th, 2024. He was born on January 10th, 1950, in Akron, Ohio to the late Francis (Whitey) and Mary McMurray. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Leslie Torson. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Patty; children, Zack (Natassja) McMurray, Katie (Brian) Kelley, Sarah (Kasey) Lukacs, and Josh Baughman; grandchildren, Asher, Sam, and Emerson. Also survived by brothers Mark (Sharon) and Danny (Jackie). Ken was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on November 9th, 1968, and spent much of his life sharing his faith, and the wonderful promises of hope found in the Bible, with others. Ken never looked for the spotlight, but he was always there when needed. He was eager to lend a hand, whether it was a quick fix, or that dreaded project. He wasn't a fan of crowds, but thoroughly enjoyed one-on-one conversations. He was a great teacher, patiently sharing his skills, knowledge, and experience with others, especially the kids and grandkids. Ken loved listening to and playing music. He enjoyed fishing by the creek, a sky full of stars, and making sure there was another log to put on the fire - all of which were found at the "farm", where he always wanted to be. He will be dearly missed, but there are no goodbyes for us, only waiting "a little while longer…" (Psalms 37:10, 11; John 5:28).  Ken’s family will receive friends on Saturday, March 16, 2024 from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. with a service at 3:30 p.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton, Ohio 44203.
