Kevin Allen Chapman Sr.

Kevin Allen Chapman Sr., aged 58, of New Franklin, passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, after a battle with cancer. Kevin was born on May 5, 1965, and was the third child and youngest son of Kenneth Arthur Chapman Sr. and his wife, Barbara Ann Chapman, nee Stripe. He was a 1983 graduate of Norton High School.  Kevin served in the 50th Signal Battalion of the US Army and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Tampa Technical Institute in 1992 with a degree in Electrical Engineering Technology. He relocated back to Ohio in 1995, working for companies such as Parker Hannifin, before making a career change to the transportation industry, working for Schneider, Little Tikes, and O’Reilly Auto Parts, before retiring in 2018. Kevin is survived by his children, Kevin A. Chapman II and Margaret E. Chapman of St. Petersburg, FL, his brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Michelle Chapman of Canal Fulton, his sisters, Joan Tomsello of Barberton, and Janet Wood of Akron and nieces Jennifer (Christopher) Jones and Emily Wood and a nephew, Michael (Mikayla) Chapman, as well as a host of beloved family members and friends. A Celebration of Life picnic will be held on Saturday, July 1st, 2023, from 1:00pm – 4:00pm at the CW1 pavilion at Columbia Woods Park, Norton, Ohio. Kevin’s ashes will be interred in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery on Monday, July 3, 2023 at 9:45 a.m. with military honors. Please if attending, arrive by 9:30 a.m.
