La Verne Elaine (Inks) Swigert

La Verne Elaine Swigert (Inks), 90, passed away Sunday, November 5, 2023. A resident of the Akron and surrounding area for the majority of her life, LaVerne lived the past 20 years in Michigan and currently in Texas, to be close to her family and grandchildren. La Verne was a nature and animal lover, spending much of her time tending to her many flower beds and gardens. If she wasn’t there, you could often find her and one of her dogs exploring a park, or driving the backroads, taking in the sights and scenery! Preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and husband Gordon, she is survived by her daughter, Karen (Garth) Easterwood of Anna, Texas, and their two children, Abby (19) and Drew (16) and a number of nieces and nephews. La Verne’s funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at 1 p.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton with Pastor Rod Grabski officiating. Burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12 Noon until time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations to Alzheimer’s Association.
