Larry E. McKinney, 69, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, after suffering from complications related to heart disease and diabetes. He was born on June 7, 1952 in Barberton to the late Carvel and Violet McKinney and was a graduate of Chippewa High School, Class of 1970. Larry was an avid pool player and loved riding motorcycles. Everything he decided to do, he mastered. Larry coached football and baseball and always had winning teams. He not only taught the young boys he coached about the sport and positions they were playing but he also tried to instill life lessons. Larry ran the Barberton Rollercade for a few years where he became like a father to many employees and patrons of “The Cade”. Preceded in death by his brother, Carvel Wayne McKinney. He leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Judy (Glunt) McKinney; sons, Jack (Utahna) and Travis (Vinnie); siblings, Shirley (Ed) Tate, Roy (Marian) McKinney, A. Sue (Jim) Whipple. He also leaves behind his granddaughters, Marissa, Morgan (Mike), Delaney (Laney) and Isabella (Bella); great-grandson, Wesley and a host of nieces and nephews. He will be missed by many. Larry’s funeral service will be held Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 4 p.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until the time of service.
