Laura R. Collmar

Laura R. Collmar, 81, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2024. She was born on July 27, 1943 in Cecil, Maryland and resided in Barberton until moving to North Carolina in 1981. She was lovingly known as the “Avon Lady” and was a member of the One Accord Independent Church in Gastonia. Laura took pleasure in crocheting, solving puzzles and testing her luck at the claw machines. She also loved camping and her annual family Reunion in Virginia. Her warm smile and kind heart touched the lives of many around her. She was preceded in death her parents, Howard and Mildred Heaton; son, Raymond Heaton; daughter, Treva Breedlove and siblings, Fred Heaton and Jim Farmer. Laura is survived by her children, Howard (Erica) Collmar, Linda (Roger) Stalnaker, Cindy (Troy) Swayney, Donald (Dorothy) Collmar, Susanna (Michael) Lybrook and Walter (Rose) Collmar; son-in-law, Dennis Breedlove; brother, Ralph Farmer; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; along with many other relatives and friends. Laura’s funeral service will be held Friday, September 6, 2024 at 2 p.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton, Ohio 44203 with Pastor Howard Russell officiating. Burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends, 1 p.m. until time of her service.
