Leah Ruth Spangler

Leah Ruth Spangler, 94, passed away Friday, June 21, 2024. She was born on July 19, 1929 in Norton, Ohio to the late Delbert and Estelle Starcher. Ruth married her husband, Robert J.Spangler and they had two children. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Robert J. Spangler and daughter, Sandra Durbin. She is survived by son, Bob (Jean) Spangler; son-in-law, Paul Durbin; daughter-in-law, Laura Spangler and grandson, Robert A. Spangler. Ruth was a devoted mother and grandmother. She loved cats, cooking, going to restaurants, Elvis and being with people. Many thanks to Brookdale Barberton where she was a resident for over six years and also Compassionate Care Hospice and St. Luke’s Portage Lakes. Ruth’s funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at 1 p.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton with Pastor Diane Richmond officiating.  Burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. until time of her service.
