Surrounded by love, Leonard Charles Morlan was granted eternal rest on Wednesday, November 30, 2022. Lenny was born on April 24, 1951 to the late Kathleen Creola Frey and Floyd Charles Morlan. In his school age years, you could find Lenny on the baseball diamond, basketball court or football field. During little league baseball, he was given the nickname “Mooch” and it stuck throughout his lifetime. He was a graduate of Barberton High School, Class of 1970. Mooch led the Barberton Magics to many wins as the quarterback of the football team and starting guard of the basketball team. After high school, he went to the railroad where he loyally worked for over forty years. During that time he married Sharon Yarsa and had two daughters who all loved him immensely. Mooch was most definitely the "fun" dad and spouse. Mooch's passion for the outdoors led his family on many exciting trips and fostered his daughters' love for travel. One of Lenny's favorite titles became “Papa Mooch”, aka grandpa. He spent countless hours traveling to Columbus to visit with his grandchildren. As their number one fan, there's no doubt he'll still be watching their games and cheering them on from the sky deck. In retirement, Mooch spent his time golfing, hiking, playing his lottery numbers, handicapping horses, bird watching, exploring and snowbirding in Arizona. While the world will never be the same, Mooch's legacy will live on in the stories and hearts of all who knew him. Mooch is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sharon (Yarsa); daughters, Katie (Jason) Testerman and Abbie (Joey) Kratowicz; grandchildren, Taliana, Beckham and Truman; in-laws, Diane and Louis Molnar and John Yarsa; nieces, Stacie (Greg) Stearn and Heather (Sam) Shahan and many, many cousins, friends and neighbors. Special thanks to Gina and Toni of Summa Hospice for their kindness and care. Cremation has taken place. A memorial mass will be held on Friday, December 23, 2022 at 10 am at St. Augustine Church in Barberton, Ohio. A celebration of life will take place sometime in the spring.
