Linda (Starcher) Makowski

Linda Makowski, 74, loving wife and mother of three, passed away on Friday May 19, 2023 after a long battle with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma of the brain. Linda graduated from Barberton High School in 1966 and she was a lifelong resident in Barberton and Norton. Linda is the daughter of Ralph and Mary (Baker) Starcher, both deceased, and she grew up on the East side of Barberton. Linda’s twin brother Larry Starcher still lives in the family home. Linda (Starcher) married Ed Makowski on Nov. 18, 1978 at St. Matthew church in Ellet. Linda and Ed were very active in Cub Scouts with Pack 3132 of Norton and with their church St. Andrew the Apostle of Norton. Linda worked as a key punch operator for Babcock & Wilcox and later as a server for Ponderosa Steakhouse and Cracker Barrel.  Linda loved to travel and she and Ed explored much of the country by RV with their two dogs and once took a trip to Europe. Linda is survived by her husband Ed and three children. Linda’s oldest son Nicholas, lives in Colorado with his wife Kathryn and their four children, Opal, George, Henry, and William. Her daughter Amanda Hetherington lives in Delaware with her husband Tim and their three children Kody, Cole, and Hailey. Linda’s youngest son Matthew, also lives in Colorado with his wife Kayla and their three children Tierra, Madison, and Jackson. A funeral mass will be held at St. Augustine Catholic church in Barberton, on Friday May 26 at 10:00 am immediately followed by a luncheon at Turkeyfoot Sportsman Club 4551 Dustys Rd. Akron, Ohio 44319.
