Lois Ellen (Higgs) Wittibschlager

Lois Ellen Higgs Wittibschlager, born July 11, 1931 in Barberton, Ohio, daughter of Lester Goodrich Higgs and Gretta Marie McMillan Higgs, died Wednesday, April 28, 2021. Lois graduated from Kenmore High School in 1949 before attending Actual Business College. She worked at The Bank of Akron from 1950 to 1960. While attending a dance at the YWCA, John Wittibschlager asked her to dance. They were married in 1960 and celebrated 58 years of marriage before John’s death in 2019. Lois was a 56-year member of Johnson Church. She and her husband John enjoyed hiking with their family for many years in the Summit County Metro Parks Fall Hiking Spree and enjoyed swimming at Loyal Oak Lake Park. Lois is survived by sons, John (Karen) of Greer, SC and Paul (Liz) of Macedonia, OH; daughter, Anne (Derek) Dauchy of Oak Park, CA; six grandchildren, Megan and Hope Wittibschlager, Ryan (Abbey) Wittibschlager and Katie Wittibschlager, Jackson and Delaney Dauchy; two great-grandchildren, Nolan Ryan Wittibschlager and Lilly Autumn Wittibschlager. Lois was predeceased by her parents, sister Ruth Pay, and brother Ralph. A private graveside service will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park with Pastor Tim Monteith officiating. There will be no calling hours.
