Louis “Lou” Kozer, 91, a resident of the Lodge at Brier Creek passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 19, 2024. Lou was born on March 28th, 1933 in Brooklyn, NY. As a young man Lou attended State University of New York and moved to Barberton upon graduation to pursue a career with Babcock & Wilcox. He retired after 42 years of service in Project Scheduling & Operations. A dedicated family man and husband, Lou also enjoyed hunting, bowling, and was an avid golfer. As an army veteran of the Korean War, Lou served his country for two years holding the rank of Staff Sargent. Remembered well by all who knew him, Lou was known for his kindness, consideration and respect for others. Living each day to its fullest, moments spent with him were always memorable: “Truly a life well lived”. Lou was preceded in death by his loving wife, Annette and grandson, Kurt. He leaves his daughters, Christine and husband, Rick and Anastasia and partner, Nick; his son, Bob and wife, Kim and their daughters, Aubrey and Ashley. Along with other friends and relatives. Lou’s family will receive friends on Friday, October 25, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton 44203. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1 p.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 204 Sixth Street, N.W., Barberton. Inurnment will take place at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Fund.
