Mahala Ruth Phillips

Mahala Ruth Phillips, 79, much loved daughter of John and Ruth Phelps, born on August 5, 1946, passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2026. She will be dearly missed by her beloved sons, Tim Jr. and Eric (wife, Laurel); grandsons, Rion Ropchuck (wife, Gabriel); (great-grandsons, “Ried” and “Rhett”), Connor Ropchuck and Brendan Phillips; sister, Cassie Damavandi; and B.F.F., Connie Leeway. She was preceded in death by her husband, Timothy Allen Phillips Sr.; both her parents and five siblings. Mahala loved life and her family with all the joy that brings. She grew up in Barberton and attended school there always considering herself a, “West Side Girl”. Tim’s government job took them to Argentina and Virginia in the early years of marriage but they returned home and resided in Norton for many years. With her slim figure, sense of style and beautiful face she always looked great. She loved the beach and slots and family and will be greatly missed. Cremation has taken place. Mahala will be laid to rest beside her husband, Tim at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
