Marc M. Balas

Marc M. Balas, 80, passed away Friday, January 23, 2026 at his home. He was born on August 2, 1945 in Barberton to the late George and Margaret (Jursik) Balas. Marc graduated from Barberton High School, Class of 1963 where he received his machinist training. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Vietnam with 101st Airborne. He was employed as a machinist for various companies. Marc was an avid Bass fisherman and competed in many Bass Tournaments. He was a life member of the V.F.W. and Army/Navy 250 Club. Marc is survived by his wife, Anne; Wayne Thompson, along with many relatives and friends. Following Marc’s wishes there will be no services. Cremation has taken place. Inurnment with military honors will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date.
