Marilyn A. Stanich
October 27, 1936–June 3, 2023
Marilyn A. Stanich, 86, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 3, 2023. Born on October 27, 1936, in Barberton, Ohio, she was a graduate and loyal fan of Barberton High School. Marilyn spent most of her life tending to the needs of others as a long-term caregiver for her mother and a childcare provider to many. In addition to operating a small cleaning service, she was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church of Norton and served weekly in the kitchen ministry. She was affectionately known as “Aunt Marilyn” to many. Marilyn was preceded in death by parents, Sradoya and Marina Stanich; siblings; Delphia Stanich, Olga Boleratz, Helen Lerich, Vic Stanich, and Violet Pavkov; and cousin, Ralph Stanich. She will be missed by her primary caregiver and niece, Karen Gruich (Angelo Johnson) and great-nieces, Mikayla, Brianna, and Brooklyn Johnson as well as assistant caregivers, Marva and Angelo Johnson. In addition, Marilyn is survived by her sister, Martha Gruich; niece and nephews, Lori (Joe) Greeninger, Mark (Sandra) Gruich, and Michael (Traci) Gruich; 16 great-nieces/nephews; and 9 great-great-nieces/nephews. Visitation will be on Thursday, June 8, 2023, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., and funeral services will be on Friday, June 9, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton, OH 44203. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park, 3653 West Market Street, Akron, OH 44333.
