Mary Balser Obituary

It is with great sorrow, we announce the passing of Mary “Marie” Helen Balser our beloved Mom and Mamas. If a life is measured by the number of people who loved you, Marie “Mamas” Balser lived a long, beautiful life. Mary was born on September 7th, 1938 in Philadelphia Pennsylvania and passed away while surrounded by those who loved her on Friday, May 27th, 2022 in Barberton, Ohio. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Bricker; son, Michael Balser (Pam); her grandchildren, Christina Balser (Braxton), Chastity Balser, Kyle Bricker (Kaitlyn), Kelsey Bricker (Michael) and Kaitlyn Bricker; great-grandson, Phoenix; great-granddaughter, Aria and great-granddaughter, Paytenn Balser with whom she had an unbreakable bond.  She was also survived by her brother, Edward O’Brien of Willingboro, N.J. along with many nieces and nephews. Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Marie (McVeigh) O’Brien; brother, Francis O’Brien; sister, Patricia Longstreet; brother, George O’Brien and brother, Jackie Campbell. Mamas was an amazing woman who was loved dearly by all those who lost her. Her feisty personality, affinity for Nacho Bell Grandes aka “Rancho Grandes” and banana splits.  Her endless stream of love will be missed dearly.  Our lives are left incomplete without her here, but if anyone in this world had a fast pass to heaven, it was Mamas. A special thank you to Maria, her infusion nurse of Parkview Pavilion in Barberton, Ohio and all the medical professionals who took such great care of her. Per Mamas request, a Celebration of Life will be held in private. In kind donations can be made in her honor to the American Cancer Society.
