Mildred A. McVey

Mildred A. McVey, 92, passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2025. She was a life resident of Barberton and a graduate of Barberton High School, Class of 1949. Mildred was an office manager for ACAWA Local #1 for 36 years and then retired from the City of Barberton as Clerk of Council after 10 years of service. She served as president of the Barberton Women’s Democratic Club. She loved spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids. Preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Wayne McVey; granddaughters, Katherine and Staci McVey and her four sisters.  Mildred is survived by her children, Tina (Terry) Palmer, Wayne Jr. (Paula) McVey, Warren McVey and Lori (Joe) Csipke; grandchildren, Carrie (John) Skarl, Brad (Samantha) Palmer, Sean McVey, Casey Csipke, Samantha (Zeke) Siko and Ian (Tessa) McVey; great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Jonas Skarl, Abram and Leah Palmer, Avery and Landon Siko; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Art and Pat McVey of Florida. The family will like to thank Crossroads Hospice for all the care and support that she received. Mildred’s funeral service will be held on Monday, January 27, 2025 at 11 a.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton 44203 with Rev. Dr. Carolyn Berry officiating. Burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 26, 2025 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Camp Quality of Ohio, P.O.
