Norman R. Gorby, 96, passed away Thursday, December 31, 2020. Norman was born on March 27, 1924, in Wileyville, West Virginia to the late Wells and Rosa Gorby. He was a resident of Barberton since 1947 and was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran during World War II, serving in the Pacific Theatre. Norman retired from B&W after 39 years of service and was a member of the VFW. Preceded in death by his grandson, David Gorby Jr. He is survived by his children, Sandra (Paul) Himelrigh, David R. Gorby, Jeffrey (Paula) Gorby and Lisa Culp; grandchildren, Kristen Robinson, Michael (Nicole) Culp and Andy (Elyse) Gorby; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Paul (Dorothy) Gorby; along with nieces, nephews and other relatives. Due to current circumstances masks are required and social distancing will be observed. Norman’s funeral service will be held Thursday, January 7th, 2021 at 12:30 p.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton 44203 with Dr. Ken Morrison officiating. Burial to follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery with military honors. His family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until time of service.
