Richard D. Pletcher

Richard D. Pletcher, 83, passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2023. He was born June 16, 1939 in Markelton, Pennsylvania. Richard was a resident of Barberton for 53 years. He retired from Cavanaugh Construction at the age of 62 and went back to work at Earth and Wood as a backhoe operator until the age of 75. He was a member of Barberton Seventh-Day Adventist Church, where is served as a deacon. Richard was preceded in death by his wife of forty-five years, Terry. He is survived by his daughter, Angela (Rusty) Shobe; son, Eric (Wendy) Pletcher; grandchildren, Brittany (Jimmy), Krystal (Anthony), Jonathon (Lindsay), Corey and Abigail; great-grandchildren, David, Vivienne, Jaden, Aubrey, Kaleb, Alexander, Ethan, Jensen and Everlee; siblings, Ernest Eldon (Carolyn) Pletcher, Wayne (Cheryl) Pletcher, Linda Little and Randy (Beverly) Pletcher; along with other family members and friends. Following Richard’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at 2 p.m. at PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF CHURCH, BARBERTON CHURCH OF GOD, 885 N. Summit Street, Barberton with his son, Eric Pletcher officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Seventh-Day Adventist Community Center in Barberton.
