Ronald James Peters, 74, of Akron, Ohio passed away Friday, December 11, 2020 into the arms of Jesus. Ron was a 1964 graduate of Kenmore High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War (1966-1968). He was a member of Grace Cathedral where he enjoyed singing in the choir and went on two missionary trips to Africa. Ron loved flowers and gardening. Every year he received an award for “Make Akron Beautiful” from the Mayor’s office for his yard work. Ron loved the Lord and all peoples. The most kind, gentle amazing soul you would ever want to meet. He is now resting his feet in the river of life, his work on earth is done. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Diana (Overly) Peters; son, Ronald Jason (Cynthia); two grandsons, Bryce and Spencer of Georgia; one granddaughter, Paige (Jack) Alderman of Barberton, Ohio; along with other relatives and friends. Besides being greeted into Heaven by Jesus, he was also greeted by his only daughter, Angela along with many other loved ones. Ron’s funeral service will be held Saturday, December 19th at 12 Noon at Grace Cathedral, 2700 State Road, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 4423 with Rev. Chris Machamer officiating. Public viewing 11 a.m. until time of service. Burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
