Ronald “Ron” E. Ingersoll, 83, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 11, 2023. He was born on December 30, 1939 in Akron to the late Gene and Margaret Ingersoll. Ron was a life resident of the Akron area and graduated from Kent State with a Bachelor’s degree in arts and architecture. He retired from Richard L. Bowen and Associates with 40 years of service. Ron was part of the design of numerous buildings in Cleveland and the Akron area. He enjoyed cycling and kayaking. Ron was hiking sections of the Appalachian Trail during his retirement. He was preceded in death by his wife, Diane; sister, Barbara and sister-in-law, Jeri. Ron is survived by his son, Ward (Laura); three grandsons, Zachary, Daniel and Kyle; brothers, Robert (Sandy), Donald and Norman (Joyce); along with other relatives and friends. Ron’s funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at 11 a.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton 44203 with Rev. Rod Grabski officiating. Burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Western Reserve Hospice.
