Sandra L. Ingersoll

Sandra L. Ingersoll, 81, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 24, 2026. She was a life resident of Akron. Sandy retired from Norton City Schools as a teacher with 32 years’ service. She was a negotiator for the teachers’ union for many years.

Sandy loved cruising the world and working craft shows with her husband and also traveling with her family; Alaska being one of her favorite destinations.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Agnes Lazzaro; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Eugene and Margaret Ingersoll; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Donald and Jerilyn Ingersoll and Ronald and Diane Ingersoll; sister-in-law Barbara Kulick.

Sandy is survived by her husband of 62 years, Robert Ingersoll; daughter, Sarah Ingersoll; sister, Doris Lazzaro; her four-legged friend, “Piper”; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Norman and Joyce Ingersoll along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 11 a.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton 44203 with Rev. Rod Grabski officiating. Burial to follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Sandy’s family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, from 6 to 8 p.m.
