Sheena Hodge Grubb, 77, passed away Sunday, March 7, 2021. She was born in Glasgow, Scotland in November, 1943. Sheena left her cherished homeland and moved to Barberton in 1973 to marry the love of her life, John “Johnny” Grubb. They remained lovingly devoted throughout their 45-year marriage, traveling across the US, Canada and Europe, enjoying Cleveland sports and volunteering together at Barberton Citizens Hospital. Sheena entered the banking industry after high school in Scotland and remained in banking in the states with Bank One utilizing her sharp math mind. She finished her career at Akron Wire and Steel in a position she loved. Sheena enjoyed the wonderful friendships she developed at First Presbyterian Church in Barberton. The family is grateful for the love and care these friends provided her. Sheena is being lovingly reunited in the next life with her husband, Johnny and her parents who preceded her in death. She is survived by her sister, Isabel (Denis) Pitkeathly; sister-in-law, Janet Neff; sister-in-law, Nancy (Jack) Brandt and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends on two continents, who will miss her sense of fun and outgoing nature. A memorial service for Sheena will be held Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Barberton First Presbyterian Church, 636 W. Park Ave., Barberton 44203 with Pastor Richard Lapehn officiating, and will observe COVID protocols. The service will also be available electronically with information available through the church. A private interment service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the church.
