Timothy James Carpenter

Timothy James Carpenter, 61, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2023. He was born August 16, 1961 to Jim and Cathy Carpenter. Tim was a 1979 graduate of Barberton High School and received a Presidential Scholarship to the University of Akron. After graduating from Akron, he then went on to earn a Masters of Business Finance from Ohio State. He was also a CPA. While working in Singapore, he vacationed in Malaysia where he met his future wife, Swee-Wan Poon. They were married in 1996 and moved to Karana Downs, Australia, where his family still resides. They have four children, Cherie (Boh), Tyler, Dylan and Mei-Ling. Tim will join his brother, Robert, who passed away in 2021, but is survived by his family, his parents, and his sister, Sharon Wooldredge and her family of Stow, Ohio. A “Celebration of Tim’s Life” will be held at M and M’s Taphouse, 523 W. Tuscarawas Avenue, Barberton, on Saturday, June 10th from 2 to 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Tim’s name to your favorite charity.
