With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Tony Shirey, who left this world far too soon on October 17, 2025, at the age of 41, following a heart attack.
Tony was born on April 26, 1984, and brought laughter, love, and light to everyone who knew him. He had a one-of-a-kind sense of humor and an unforgettable smile that could brighten anyone’s day. Tony was fun to be around, always cracking jokes and keeping things positive. He had a way of lifting spirits and making life feel a little lighter for everyone who crossed his path.
Tony was preceded in death by his father, Tony Fisher; grandmother, Vonnie McFadden; great-grandmother, Viona “Granny” Powell, who was his favorite person and someone he shared a very special bond with; uncle, Bill and aunt Kim Shirey; and cousin Katie Moore.
He is survived by his loving mother, Cindie Shirey, who he cherished deeply; his sister, Jenny Bender, with whom he shared an especially close bond and endless love – Jenny was not just his sister but his best friend and biggest supporter; brother, Josh Fisher, whom he loved dearly; and his son, Ethan Shirey, who he always thought of and loved deeply. Tony also leaves behind his aunts, Tracy (Bill) Knight, Becky (James) McFadden, and Amy Shirey; and his cousins, Krissy, Matt, Buddy, Mariah, and Billy, who held a truly special place in Tony’s heart – he was more than family, he was his lifeline, someone he looked up to, and the person he could always turn to. Also his good friend Adam, who meant a lot to him, and many other family members and friends who will forever miss him.
A special thank you goes to his cousin Buddy, who saved Tony’s life about a month prior during his first heart attack—your courage and love gave the family precious extra time with him.
Tony’s life was a reminder to laugh often, love hard, and never take a single day for granted. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Cremation will take place, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
