William J. Moore, age 82, passed away March 29, 2026, after a heroic battle with cancer. William was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on September 29, 1943, to Joseph and Martha May Moore.
William graduated from Brunswick High School in 1962 and worked at Ohio Bell, SBC and ATT. William later attended Massillon Baptist College, receiving his Bachelor of Divinity degree in 1976. William married his high school sweetheart, Judith Hunter, on April 6, 1963. William and Judith raised three children in Portage Lakes, Ohio.
William is survived by wife, Judith Moore, three children, Stephen (wife Allison), Deborah (husband Michael deceased) Jeffery (wife Gretchen). He is also survived by six grandchildren, Arielle (husband Patrick), Derreck, Colton, Brody, Logan (wife Meghyn), Gabriel (husband Jeffery). He is also survived by five great grandchildren, Ava, Tabitha, Alina, Addy and Temperance.
William was a devoted pastor and loved the Lord with all his heart. William spent all his time serving the Lord and spreading the gospel wherever he went and with whomever he encountered.
William was the pastor of Union Missionary Baptist Church in Norton, Ohio. Visitation will be held Friday, April 10, 2026, from 6 - 8 p.m. at Union Missionary Baptist Church, 4131 Swain Drive, Norton, Ohio 44203.
Services will be held Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Northside Christian Church, 7615 Ridge Road, Wadsworth, Ohio 44281 at 1 p.m. with Dr. Larry Emory officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. until the time of his service.
Immediately following, a graveside service will be held for immediate family only.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
