William 'Bill" Ratzer Obituary

William “Bill” A. Ratzer, 94, passed away Monday, April 25, 2022. A life resident of the Akron area and a graduate of Garfield High School, Class of 1945. He was U.S. Navy veteran serving during World War II and retired from General Tire and Rubber as an engineer with 25 years of service. Bill enjoyed collecting and restoring classic cars, golfing and traveling with his wife, Nancy. Preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Clara and sister, Mary Margaret Mothersbaugh. Bill is survived by his wife of 62 years, Nancy; sons, David (Cynthia), Jon (Chiu Min), Larry (Marla) and William II (Elaine); daughter, Pam Scaglione-DiNicola; several grandchildren; sister, Joann Thomas; along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Following Bill’s wishes there will be no services. Cremation has taken place.
