William "Bill" M. Shape

William “Bill” M. Shape, passed unexpectedly on Friday, April 8, 2022 at the age of 70. He was a lifelong resident of Akron and graduated from Garfield High School. As a member of the U.S. Army, Bill proudly served his country in the Vietnam conflict and received several commendations. He retired from Harwick Standard Chemical. Bill is preceded in death by the mother of his children, Sherri Ankrim. He leaves behind a daughter, Hannah Shape, and her children, MacKenzie, Nathaniel and Regina; a son, Michael (Amelia) Shape and their daughter, Philomena; sister, Deborah Shape; and nephew, Terry all of Akron. He also leaves a host of lifelong friends to mourn his loss. Per Bill’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life for family and friends will take place at, Talk of the Town, 472 E. Wilbeth Road, Akron, Ohio 44301 on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 4 p.m. A private family graveside service will be held at a future date and Bill will be laid to rest with military honors at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Donations to assist with burial costs may be sent to, www.gofund.me/d78aef35 account.
